Next Step was created due to the experience a small group of professionals had working for non-profits and private organizations, in which the immediate need of the individual was fulfilled without addressing the underlying issues. Next Step's mission is to not only fulfill the immediate need, but to provide guidance to take the Next Step in the journey to a productive, fulfilling, and healthier life.

I am Dr. Dorcas Amuah a Nurse Practitioner with Doctorate Degree in Nursing Practice. I have 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner, 14 years as an RN,
and 2 years as a Nurse Lecturer.
I am very excited to join the Next Step team because my goals are in line with their mission and vision and I count myself as lucky in helping to care for the
underprivileged.
As a provider, I will serve as an advocate for my patient’s needs, and provide comprehensive family-oriented preventive and primary health services for all
patients under my care.

I am convinced that I can facilitate mental health education, medication management and serve as an advocate for those in need of humane treatment without stigma.
I started my medical career in Mexico in general medicine 13 years ago. I am a first-generation immigrant college graduate. I have a passion for psychiatry and behavioral health because I have personally encountered the struggles these ailments bring to families and the individuals.
In my career, I have had the opportunity to work as a psychiatric nurse for 5 years in the valley. treating mental disorders across the lifespan, from children to elderly, as well as alcohol and drug addiction in the adult population.
